Family Nurse Practitioner Id-2230

Overall concern is to carry out the goals and objectives of Missouri Highlands Health Care, as determined by the Board of Directors by providing health care services within their scope of knowledge, training and skills, to the population of individuals within the service area.

II. QUALIFICIATIONS

Degree from an accredited nursing school and successfully written the RN licensure exam. Two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse. Graduate of a certified State or Nationally approved Nurse Practitioner program, and preferably certified by theAmerican Nurses Credentialing Center.

III. SUPERVISION

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible to the Medical Director and/or Clinical Director with secondary responsibilities to the Chief Executive Officer and Missouri Highlands Health Care, Board of Directors.

IV. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Provides clinical management for clinic patients on site or off site, including health supervision of uncomplicated illness, including chronic illness, persons with minor accidents and anticipatory guidance.

B. Elicits and records health histories for individuals and families in a systematic and succinct form and critically evaluates and documents the findings in the patient’s chart.

C. Assumes responsibility for health surveillance relevant to health teaching to promote optimal physical and mental health to prevent illness and establish a Wellness mode.

D. Must show proficiency in computer skills, as MHHC utilizes EMR exclusively for patient charting and billing.

E. Supervises, as deemed necessary, allied health personnel when appropriate to complete above objectives.

F. Uses sound judgment in deciding which persons can be served by the Nurse Practitioner and which should be referred either to physicians for differential medical diagnosis or to other community resources.

G. Collaborates with other professional staff members, physicians and other health professionals in devising improved and ongoing ways to deliver quality primary health care.

H. Any other duties as assigned by the Medical Director, Board of Directors, or Chief Executive Officer of Missouri Highlands Health Care.

I. Participates actively in development, approval and implementation of sound protocols under which the Nurse Practitioners function. Follows said protocols when providing health care services to individuals seeking care.

J. Participates in CME in order to say abreast of current trends in health care delivery, expansion of personal skills ad knowledge and enhancement of services provided through the organization.

V. EVALUATION

The Nurse Practitioner will be evaluated yearly using input from the Medical Director, Medical Staff and Chief Executive Officer.

VI. SALARY RANGE

The salary range is based on years of experience, knowledge, skills, training, certification, relevance to the needs of Missouri Highlands Health Care, and prevailing scale at the time of employment.
