A nursing assistant working with Nursa provides basic care and helps patients with activities of daily living under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Nursing assistants work in a variety of nursing and care facilities, long-term care centers, assisted living facilities (ALFs), hospitals, home healthcare services, and more.
GNA Responsibilities:
Allowing for some variation in duties from one work setting to another, the following are typical responsibilities of GNAs:
- Administer medications according to their physician's orders, provide personal and medical care, and obtain vital signs.
- Be a source of emotional and social support to patients
- Offer any other support needed to facility staff
- Present your best self to patients, families, and facility staff on behalf of Nursa
GNA Qualifications:
Here are basic qualifications and important skills for GNAs working with Nursa:
- Current, active GNA certification
- CPR or BLS certification
- Ability to provide physical assistance to patients as needed
