## Job Summary:
The Test Engineering Technician visually inspects, evaluates, operates units,
gathers data, and designs test equipment to determine compliance of products
to safety standards, performance requirements, and durability parameters.
Summarizes and reports findings to Test engineers for action. This is an entry
to mid-level opportunity to join The Toro Companys test team and get exposure
to a variety of product lines, in a hands-on environment.

## What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will
be responsible for:
* Personally operate and evaluate Toro prototype and production units in both field and laboratory conditions according to established andor newly developed safety, durability, and performance standards.
* Gather pertinent data on the performance of Toro products and prototypes under prescribed field and laboratory fixture conditions. Include data acquisition with computer controlled DAQ systems such as LabVIEW and SoMat products.
* Maintain daily logs on all test projects and may write periodic, interim and final data summaries as required.
* Perform required maintenance on test units and records such for inclusion in reliability and maintainability summaries. Perform teardown and inspection of test units at intervals or conclusion of test.
* May be required to direct and supervise temporary employees in conducting the Minneapolis field test program - summer and winter. Help instruct associate technicians in acquiring skills necessary to become fully qualified at test department procedures.
* Assist department engineering staff in design, construction, and development of specialized test fixturing and test stands.
* Some travel may be required to local field test sites along with remote test locations for data acquisition or performance evaluations.
* Provide feedback to Test Technician Team Lead on facility needs when required. Interface with Test Engineers, Other Test Technicians, Vendors, Design Engineers, Designers, Drafters, PDL, personnel (Specialists – JourneyWorker and Apprentices, CNC- Machinist Journeyworkers and Sheetmetal Specialists) and Management.

## Job Title:
At the time of a job offer, the Test Technician job title will be determined
based on the following criteria:
* _ Technician I: _ Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate. Entry level (zero to three years) experience in a related technical role --OR – Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture) and no experience --OR-- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in lieu of education in a mechanicalelectrical role. Experience with data acquisition devices highly desirable, e.g., LabVIEW, SoMat, etc.
* _Technician II_ : Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate and with a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a mechanicalelectrical technician --OR -- Bachelor degree in a technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture.) and minimum two (2) years experience in related role --OR-- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in lieu of education in a mechanicalelectrical role.
* _ Technician III: _ Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate and with a minimum of five (5) plus years of experience as a mechanicalelectrical technician --OR-- Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture.) and advanced experience of three (3) plus years in a technical related role --OR-- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in lieu of education in a technical related role.
## What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following
minimal requirements:
* Entry level (zero to ten) experience in a related technical role.
* High School Diploma required. Preferred: 4-year degree in Engineering, Automotive, or Agricultural Technology , or those who have ASE Certifications are preferred.
* Experience with data acquisition devices highly desirable, e.g., LabVIEW, SoMat, etc.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel etc.) is required.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Demonstrated troubleshooting capability.
* Ability to work independently and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members and many different individuals .
