Jewish Community Services (JCS) has an exceptional dual opportunity for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who will also serve as the OMHC Medical Director. Key Responsibilities:
Provide Psychiatric Care:
- Conduct initial evaluations and follow-up medication management visits for clients aged 16 and above, tailoring treatments to their unique needs.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, individualized medication management, psychotherapy, and referrals as necessary.
- Assess clients for safety, monitor their behavior, and modify treatment plans to achieve the best outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Leadership and Supervision:
- Oversee and mentor medical staff, including medication providers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with legal and licensure requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans and recommend hospitalizations or specialist referrals when necessary.
Program Development and Compliance:
- In partnership with the Director of Mental Health Services, develop and implement standardized protocols and procedures aligned with best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the medical aspects of mental health and substance abuse treatments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Contribute to fiscal management and budget planning for mental health programs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing with an unrestricted license to practice in Maryland.
- DEA and CDS eligible, with CPR certification required; ACLS/BCLS preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in mental health, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Familiarity with Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) and CARF accreditation processes preferred.
- Proficient in telehealth technologies and electronic medical record systems; familiarity with Carelogic and Dr. First preferred.
- Paneled with insurance companies for which JCS is in-network.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to work on-site as required while managing a hybrid work environment.
- Able to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as telephone, copy machine, and printer.
- Sedentary for more than 75% of work hours, with occasional movement of supplies or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
